For every tear that falls, a flower grows

the song is done for the British Navy but it stands for all lives lost in the service of liberty for all and a fantastic Christmas carol as well

Thunderstruck by Steve'n'Seagulls

I'm a big fan of AC/DC always have been and I thought Thunderstruck is one of their best

I was surprised to hear this one, the way the song starts with the accordion guy riding a lawnmower I was getting ready to roll around laughing, but I was wrong, these guys are quite good

Irma - Save me

I never heard of Irma until now, the music is OK i think but the visuals are fantastic with the use of projection lighting, & the choreography sync's perfectly to the music, enjoy

Mary Lambert - Secrets (Official)

I'll let Mary explain the song herself, but it's so encouraging to see people embrace who they are and live honestly with themselves

“‘Secrets’ might be the first fun song I’ve ever written,” Lambert says of the track. “We’re all facing battles. We’ve all had someone who has hurt us. So let’s talk about it. I believe vulnerability is what will save the world. I wanted to point the lens at myself in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. In short, this song is my dirty laundry, and that’s actually really freeing.

Kyla La Grange - Cut Your Teeth

very catchy tune from the very talented Kyla

I like the play of color and black light in the video, but most of all I like the songwriting, good subtle use of synth and organs

Aram MP3 - Not Alone (Armenia) 2014 Eurovision Song Contest

You all know that i'm a big fan of Eurovision and every year i pick my favorite song from the competition, for 2013, my pick didn't do too well (judges have no taste) but for 2012 & 2011 I was spot on

here is my pick to win, I love the way he mixes an epic orchestral ballad with dubstep, it completely new to me and I think it works really well

what do you think?

Lithuania get high marks for innovation

as my favorite annual music show gets closer, countries will announce their entries to Eurovision, so let's begin with Lithuania

very interesting innovative song, don't know much about her (apparently not many do) here is a Wiki link with some info, she has not been that active, other than another attempt at Eurovision in 2005 which didn't get her far

New Discoveries

So there is this fantastic singer from New York named Shelley Harland, been listening to her on and off for a bit, specially since her collaboration with one of my favorite DJ's (Headstrong) she just released her second Solo album (Much more mature than her first effort

interesting fact, she is untrained in music, and she makes a living as a private detective, that's different, don't you think?

leave comments with this post

check out the video which is from her previous album, she is fantastic, BTW the new album is more upbeat (iTunes Link) but just as emotional

Walk off the Earth

I've been listening to these guys for a while now (2 years really) and they are extremely talented, not only in playing all sorts of instruments but a unique and theatrical visual style, that puts them in their very own niche, somewhere between a musical and a pop band

you owe it to yourself to go back and listen to some of their other work try gang of rhythm to start
